Biliary Stone Disease (Gall Stones)

Pain caused by stones in the biliary system can be severe and is often triggered by eating fatty foods – so called ‘biliary colic’. Gallstones can also cause more serious side effects such as severe infection in the gallbladder and if they pass out of the gallbladder, they can affect other organs such as the pancreas gland causing pancreatitis. Stones can get stuck in the common bile duct and cause jaundice with severe infection which can become life-threatening eventually.

Dr. Raza has many years of experience in performing laparoscopic (keyhole) gallbladder surgery, often as a day procedure, and is happy to discuss your individual problem and the full range of management options that can be made available.
